NTT ASTC Subic Bay International Triathlon is home to aspiring elite triathletes who wish to qualify for the Southeast Asian Games (SEAGAMES) triathlon event. Every year, the competition is joined by over 800 hundred triathletes—both elite and age groupers—from all over the world.
On April 29, 2017, Subic Bay Freeport once again played host to the longest running event in the Philippines. In celebration of their 24th year in the country, the organisation launched a campaign called “BALIK SUBIT,” which urged triathletes who had raced in the previous years to join and relive their passion for the sports.

In 2009, the captivating province of Camarines Sur witnessed one of the biggest competitions in the triathlon landscape. The people behind the organisation graced the province with its first ever IRONMAN event in the country. Hundreds of triathletes and spectators responded by attending the much-anticipated event.
To mark the 10th year of IRONMAN in the Philippines, Subic Bay Freeport will be the venue for their 2018 Century Tuna IRONMAN Philippines, Subic Bay, which will be the first ever full-distance race in the country and will be held on June 3 of the following year.
The goal of the sports event is to showcase the best the country has to offer and find out who amongst the best Filipino triathletes can follow in the footsteps of Frank Lacson. Frank is also known as The Legend and the Father of Philippine Triathlon.
Other triathlon competitions that take place in Subic Bay Freeport are Regent 5150, Challenge Philippines, Bike King Philippines, Alaska IronKids and ParaTriathlon Asian Championships. Having played hosts to several sports competitions, the area is expected to see more of these major events in the years to come.
