Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Administrator Wilma T. Eisma has lauded the launch of Moonbay Marina Waterpark, the newest addition to the Moonbay Marina Complex in the Subic Bay Freeport.

“I wish Moonbay Marina the best,” Eisma said during the launch on Saturday, noting that the waterpark gives both local and foreign tourists more reasons to come and enjoy Subic.

Moonbay Marina Waterpark boasts of having the biggest wave pool in Zambales with some 3,000 sq. meters of swimming area, raging river and cabanas.

“It’s been two years since the first shovel hit the ground on this project,”said Edward “Chico” Fernandez, general manager of the waterpark, “many have been eagerly waiting for the waves to finally start rolling in.”

A full service restaurant and food kiosks add to the park’s attractions.

Olongapo City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino joined Eisma and other personalities in the simple ribbon-cutting ceremonies that officially opened the waterpark to the public.

The waterpark proved to be a hit on the very first day of its operations as people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, enjoyed the facilities, especially the waves, with confidence on their safety in the confines of the pool.

Moonbay Marina Waterpark is another project of the Subic Coastal Development Corporation (SCDC), the mother company of The Villas and the popular open-air bar & restaurant Pier One.
