“We are ready and expediting the needed transmission lines here in Bataan and Zambales in anticipation of these area becoming power hubs in the next five years,” said NGCP North Luzon District 5 head engineer Napoleon Viterbo told officers of Bataan Energy Press Corps during a recent media facility tour and orientation at BCCPP Substation in Limay, Bataan.
“Aside from the existing ones that include GN Power Plant in Mariveles, there will be new power generators in the province, which we see operating in the next few years,” Viterbo said.
“In Subic, Zambales, there is to be built a 600-magawatt power plant by RP Energy,” he said.
“The job of NGCP is to ensure that there will be available transmission facilities for these new power generators,” he further explained.
Earlier, NGCP Regional Corporate Communication officer Fely Francisco said NGCP will build Bataan 230-kV Reinforcement Project to accommodate the new power generation in the province.
She also said the transmission company will be building 500-kV Castillejos-Hermosa transmission line and the 69-kV Floridablanca-Hermosa line project.
She added they are finished with the documentation and ready to proceed with the building of the transmission projects.
