70,000 jobs up for grabs in June

SOME 70,000 local and overseas jobs will be up for grabs in 22 job and business fairs across the country during the celebration of the 121st anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello 3rd on Wednesday said 560 employers would participate in the job fairs.

Bello said the venues and number of available jobs were expected to increase as the final stretch of preparation draws closer.

“I called on job-seekers to take advantage of the employment facilitation service that the DoLE (Department of Labor and Employment) is bringing closer to the public,” he said.

For local jobs, employers are looking for production machine operators, production worker/factory workers, customer service representatives, call center agents, sewers, sales clerks, cashiers, delivery crew, service crew and marketing officers.

For those seeking overseas employment, the top vacancies are for cleaners, professional nurses (general), waiters/waitresses, service crew, company drivers, registered midwives, staff nurses, English teachers (Japan), janitresses, baristas, general technicians and nursing aides.

The job orders are for Germany, Japan, Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The 2019 Independence Day job and business fairs will be held in the following venues:
National Capital Region – San Andres Sports Complex, Malate, Manila

Cordillera Administrative Region – Sky Zone, Porta Vaga Mall, Upper Session Road, Baguio City

– Region 1 – Nepo Mall, Dagupan City; Candon Civic Center, Candon City, Ilocos Sur; and Union Christian College, San Fernando City, La Union

– Region 2 – People’s Gymnasium, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; and Ayala Malls, Harbor Point, Subic Freeport Zone, Zambales

– Region 4A – Pavilion Mall, Biñan City, Laguna; Liwasang Aguinaldo, Kawit, Cavite; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; and Odiongan, Romblon

– Region 5 – Robinsons Place, Naga City

– Region 6 – 888 Premier Mall, Bacolod City; Cebu City Sports Complex/Abellana National School, Lapu-Lapu City; and Lamberto L. Macias Sports and Cultural Center, Dumaguete City

– Region 8 – Provincial Covered Court, Catbalogan City, Samar

– Region 9 – KCC Mall de Zamboanga, Gov. Camins Avenue, Zamboanga City

– Region 10 – Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City; NCCC Mall Buhangin, Kilometer 7, Tigatto Road, Buhangin, Davao City; Trade Hall, SM City Gensan, General Santos City; and PLGU Training Center, Capitol, Butuan City.
